Electronic Distributor Conversion

Message par swolf »

Bonjour, I have an 1954 Comète Monté Carlo. Can someone help me source correct distributor rotor, points and cap? Has anyone installed an Electronic Distributor conversion?

Hi Steve, good to hear from you here!
Most electronic conversion kits made for the Ford flathead available in the US will fit your engine, there is no doubt about that.
So it wouldn't be hard for you to find the right one

A complete integrated igniter including advance device, why.
In our V8 cars equipped with a conventional Igniter, the advance is driven by a depress sensor, with depression issued from the carburetor .The sensor diaphragm is sensitive to age and present some leak or become inflexible.
Also the Igniter contact may provide several different concerns.
A optimized advance profile increase the engine performances.
Each concern its own solution: two alternatives were offered to us :
Launch a rebuilt of depress sensor
Found an alternative at least as powerful as the genuine equipment.
The initially ignition advance system on our V8 was not very efficient and was sensitive to too many factors such as piston rings ,carburetor performances , igniter advance mechanism .
So I have designed a complete electronic system
Summary of the integrated igniter including electronic advance :
Optimized Engine start up at low & high temperature
Advance profil of 10° on top of the initial advance of 3°/4°.
Safety control of the igniter bobbin with power shut down if motor remains not running over 45 S.
No more igniter contact
Spark constant & optimal on spark plug.
Gas consumption reduced.
Motor flexibility and power recovery improved.
Integrated igniter available with 6 or 12 volt , + or - on ground .
PC Board integration almost not visible outside
This device has been developed in US by PG TRIONIC Inc ( Managed by Yann Cull & Christian Peyla )
The advance profil can be tuned at demand ( micro controller technology )
The PCBA is integrated in the ighiter body .the PCBA is protected with a varnish and include high quality components .
The sensor is produced by Honeywell and the power is driven by a Mos fet transistor type IGBT
Each igniter assembled , is tested , the offset is verified and the program is set in the micro controller memory .
The advance profile is verified and the reliability checked on a control bench at different temperatures & speeds .

Hello Fred,

Thank you for the fast reply. I am concerned about American flat heat conversions because the Monte-Carlo engine has small differences.

I am very interested in Guys product if that will remove any concern about timing and performance.

Guy, please contact me directly via PM or my email swolf at sfpjv.com.

Merci!

Steve
